Comedian John Witherspoon is used to fans relating to his "Friday" or "The Wayan Bros." characters.
But he admits, some admirers do go overboard.
"I met this guy once who had a picture of me tattooed on his leg," he said of role as Ice Cube 's father in the "Friday" trilogy. "I thought, 'this guy is crazy.' He's got a picture of me with dog boo-boo on his leg!"

As much as he loves his fans, Witherspoon, 70, isn't big on taking his jokes on the road. He will be performing at the Fort Lauderdale Improv this weekend.
"I'd rather be a home watching the waterfalls with my family," he says. "The motivation for me is the money..I need to get my wallet wet and collect that paper!"
After the tour, he'll start production for the TV show, "The First Family."
"It's not about politics, but about the integration of a black president and his family in the Motown singer Gladys Knight plays Witherspoon's wife. Teaming up with her brought him back memories.
"I grew up in Detroit and knew someone who worked for Motown Records ," he recalled. "I would walk in the studio and see Marvin Gaye , Johnny Mathis and Smokey Robinson sing..that's probably the only time I've been star struck."
Witherspoon, who lends his voice on the animated series, "Boondocks" as the grumpy grandfather, has been improving his cooking skills, and now has a You Tube show, "Cooking for Poor People
"When you're hungry everything tastes good."
It's more of a spoof than a class he cooks on a hot plate and appears half-naked, wearing only an apron and chef's hat. So don't expect to learn much on the show unless you're a thief.
"The other day I stole my neighbor's tomatoes, I hope she doesn't notice!"
