I ve been a fan of Ellen DeGeneres since before she came out of the closet on her 1st show (in an airport, accidentally, over a loudspeaker!) because she was funny and the only comedian I d seen that didn t tell dirty jokes. She was brilliant because she made you think; whether it was a dirty bad luck with dating.
When it became national news that Ellen, in fact, likes girls .well, .nothing changed for me. My opinion of Ellen was still the same. She was still awesome. I was still awkward. So was she. I didn t understand what the big deal was. So she liked girls instead of boys. That didn t mean that the awkwardness and bad luck in dating went away, it just meant that it was directed at someone other than who I d originally thought. I still related to her.
